Here are three new Mini Transat proto boats designed by using our new ESVVP program on base of three processed tested Mini models. It was a surprise that MINI PROTO with combination of water ballast plus trim tab [better name in this case is elevator] gives the best average speed for Mini Transat condition, of course with adjusted design of MINI`S hull, deck, position and shape of water ballast tank and ballast keel. The amidships freeboard is risen to reduce keel mass. The fin keel is moved forward together with ballast keel to unstuck the transom in light wind, allowing bigger spinnaker, while specially shaped ballast tank is moved aft to make ideal trim in strong wind when filled up. Using trim tab on this range of MINI TRANSAT BOATS allows better performance up wind, a significant improvement with small negative angle down wind and wider transom. According to our calculation, our water ballasted MINI TRANSAT PROTO is faster for 1.62% then parallel optimized MINI with canting keel! The main characteristic of MINI TRANSAT 650 RANGE is highly reduced mass of ballast keel and wetted water surface, with big longitudinal movement of center of gravity while keeping great righting moment. We'll update MINI hull lines, plans and technical data every couple months according to results of testing MINI models.
